With a large official and popular presence Opening of the new headquarters of the Zakat Fund in Al-Minieh Under the patronage of His Eminence the Mufti of the Lebanese Republic, Sheikh Abdul Latif Derian, represented by the Mufti of Tripoli, Sheikh Dr. Muhammad Imam, and in the presence of the Mufti of Akkar, Sheikh Muhammad Zaid Bakkar Zakaria, and the representative of Prime Minister Saad Hariri, Sheikh Dr. Ali Al-Janani, and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zakat Fund in Lebanon, Consul Muhammad Ibrahim Al-Jawzo, and the Director General, Sheikh Zuhair Kabi, and a crowd of political and municipal figures, businessmen, and leaders of the security services in Al-Minieh, and the heads of the Zakat Funds in the North, and members of the committee in Al-Minieh and the surrounding area and its head, Hajj Abdul Ghafoor Alam Al-Din, the official opening of the headquarters of the Fund and Al-Mustafa Mosque in Al-Minieh took place today. The speeches praised this edifice and the efforts of those in charge of it. Consul Al-Jawzo noted in his speech that the Zakat Fund is more than a charitable institution, it is a tool for development and combating poverty, and that launching this headquarters is an investment in the future of this region and its people. Zakat funds must be directed towards productive projects and social programs that contribute to achieving social justice and alleviating poverty, and enhance opportunities for education, health and economic empowerment. He pointed out that based on the required transparency, an accounting and oversight body has been assigned to audit all expenses, costs and income of this edifice, and the results were consistent and in accordance with the approved accounting standards according to the rules. In turn, Hajj Abdul Ghafoor Alam Al-Din thanked in particular the donor brothers in the State of Kuwait and the Kuwaiti Zakat House for their donations to build the mosque. Also, the member of the Supreme Sharia Council, Sheikh Fayez Saif, spoke on behalf of the Islamic Society in Australia, remembering the late Hajj Mustafa and Hajj Ahmed Rustum, who donated the land for the project. His Eminence Sheikh Abdul Ghaffar Al-Zaabi also spoke on behalf of the Sons of Al-Minya and its Suburbs Charitable Society in Sydney, Australia. After that, there was a speech by the representative of Mufti Daryan, Mufti Muhammad Imam, who conveyed the greetings of Mufti Daryan and his congratulations on the establishment of this blessed edifice. He said: “Islam wants human dignity, comfort, respect, and a good life for him, and God Almighty revealed the laws and books so that the rulings of His Sharia would be throughout the ages, preserving and protecting the dignity of this human being. Then he listed the pillars of Islam and talked about their importance in our lives, and pointed out that these pillars were written by Allah on every Muslim and made obligatory for him to elevate his soul, purify his self, and improve the movement of life in a way that guarantees his dignity and the dignity of the people he deals with. He concluded by saying: Our era is the era of institutions, and here are the branches of the Zakat Fund in the regions, at the forefront of pioneering institutions that provide all services to meet the needs of society and its people. The ceremony concluded with the unveiling of the memorial plaque.
